New V-Ray 7, update 3 for SketchUp is here

V-Ray 7 for SketchUp and Rhino, update 3.

Precision. Now in real time.

What’s new

V-Ray 7, Update 3 brings real-time and final-quality rendering into one unified workflow, so architects, designers, and artists can create, iterate, and deliver with confidence. From real-time rendering in the V-Ray viewport to AI-powered tools, enhanced realism, and integrated collaboration—everything works together in one proven pipeline..

Real-Time Meets Final Quality.

Experience real-time rendering at final-frame quality, directly in the V-Ray viewport.

Real-time rendering in the V-Ray viewport

Available in: V-Ray for SketchUp, Rhino

Now, V-Ray users with an active Vantage license can explore and render their scenes in real time at final-frame quality, directly in the V-Ray viewport. Immediate visual feedback, no extra windows, and a unified workflow enable faster iteration, more confident decisions, and smoother design reviews—all with production-proven reliability. Vantage’s full ray tracing simulates how light behaves in the real world, without rasterization or approximations. Achieve stunning realism in real time with physically accurate cameras, lights, materials, and global illumination

*To access Vantage, users need an active Chaos Vantage or V-Ray Collection license. This feature is launching first in V-Ray for SketchUp and Rhino, with additional V-Ray integrations coming soon.

Next-Level Realism.

Achieve photoreal results faster with smarter lighting and environment tools.
Parallax interiors

Parallax interiors add realistic interior depth and lighting to exterior renders without modeling or heavy geometry. Lightweight to render, easy to apply, and adjustable per window, they make buildings feel alive, especially in night scenes, while keeping performance fast and production-ready.

Quick caustics

The new, quick caustics are easier to control and faster to render, removing the complexity traditionally associated with photon-based setups. For common scenarios like pools and water features, quick caustics deliver believable light patterns without the cost of full photon tracing. The result is realistic water caustics with significantly less setup and improved performance, making caustics accessible, predictable, and practical for everyday visualization.

Gaussian Splats relighting

Adjust the lighting of Gaussian Splats to better match your scene. Easily rebalance pre-baked illumination so splat assets integrate naturally into V-Ray projects. This makes it easier to use Gaussian Splats as part of a broader visualization workflow, especially when working with assets captured under ambient lighting.

AI That Works With You.

Accelerate creation and enhance your scenes with AI tools that keep you in control.
AI Mood Match (preview)

AI Mood Match uses a reference photo to automatically align your scene’s lighting with the look and atmosphere of the image. By analyzing the lighting conditions in the reference, it configures V-Ray’s Sun and Sky or image-based lighting to produce a closely matched mood.

AI enhancement of large surfaces

AI Enhancer now brings realistic detail to large, uniform surfaces such as floors, walls, asphalt, and terrain. By adding natural variation like wear, dirt, and subtle imperfections at the correct scale, expansive areas gain depth and realism without manual re-texturing.

Improved accuracy in AI Enhancer

Enjoy more consistent and reliable single-object enhancements in the AI Enhancer. By preserving an asset’s original characteristics, it avoids misinterpretation and unwanted changes, reducing manual fixes and ensuring predictable results across scenes.

AI Materials with 4K support

Materials, generated by the AI Material Generator, now support high-resolution 4K textures, delivering sharper detail and higher-quality results. An enhanced interactive 3D preview lets users fine-tune normal and roughness settings, adjust tiling, and preview materials on different objects before saving them to the library.

Precision & Control.

Refine every detail with greater control over materials, cameras, and output.
Node Material Editor (preview)

The new Node-Based Material Editor introduces a visual way to build and adjust V-Ray materials in SketchUp and Rhino. By working with connected nodes, artists can better understand material logic and create more complex shaders with greater control. Designed to complement existing material workflows, the Node Material Editor offers a more flexible and intuitive approach to material creation. Available as an early preview, it lays the foundation for a fully featured node-based editor planned for future V-Ray releases.

VFB improvements

Color control and working with images in the V-Ray Frame Buffer is now easier and more predictable. A new histogram widget gives you a clear view of color distribution, while the advanced Image layer makes it easier to manage backgrounds, reference images, and watermarks directly in the VFB.

Build Faster.

Populate and structure scenes in minutes with smarter tools and ready-made content.
Cosmos Sets & 700+ new assets

The new Cosmos Sets group compatible assets into ready-made arrangements that can be placed in a scene as a single unit. From furniture groupings to decorative details, sets provide a fast way to populate scenes with assets that naturally work together. Each set can be easily rearranged after placement, giving users both speed and flexibility when building realistic, well-composed environments.

Scatter Cluster Painting

Scatter Clusters in V-Ray for SketchUp and Rhino give you finer control over how assets are distributed across a surface. With the new Cluster Painting mode, you can paint areas of higher density, such as flower patches in a lawn, while keeping surrounding regions more sparse or uniform.

Work Better Together.

Streamline reviews and approvals with integrated cloud collaboration.
Chaos Cloud Reviews

The new Reviews feature in Chaos Cloud provides a structured workflow for design approvals. Files are organized on a visual Kanban board and tracked through stages from draft to review to approval. Teams can submit files for review, receive official approvals, and monitor progress in real time, replacing the fragmented mix of emails and external tools that currently slow down the architectural design sign-off process.

Chaos Cloud Videos Collaboration

Chaos Cloud Collaboration now supports video files, allowing teams to present and review animations, walkthroughs, and camera flythroughs using the platform’s existing review and annotation tools.
