Postoffice will take a deep dive into the creation of photoreal CGI animals — from sculpting muscles and simulating fat, to generating fur and final renders. Learn about the VFX workflows of the Amsterdam-based studio, while also hearing why they’re transitioning from Maya to Houdini. Ambassadors’ Head of 3D will present how the studio uses V-Ray to craft miniature worlds and charismatic characters, taking a close look at recent CG animations for ASN Bank and Unox. There will be insights galore about how they capture reference on set, and how they use Maya, Yeti and Houdini to blend pint-sized characters into handcrafted worlds. We'll also host a booth where you can see the latest V-Ray features, and find out how to make the most of Chaos Group's software.

Discover the incredible features of V-Ray for architecture and design at Chaos Group’s debut Berlin meetup. Organized in collaboration with German distributor Qoobee, the event will focus on V-Ray for SketchUp, Rhino and 3ds Max. Attendees can expect in-depth talks from Cheil Design Architect Mahmoud El Hakim, Product Visualization Specialist and Photographer Andreas Moos, and our friends from SketchUp who’ll demonstrate the dream team of their platform with V-Ray. At this year’s Rhino Berlin user group, our CG Specialist Yavor Stoykov will deliver an exclusive preview of V-Ray 3.6 for Rhino. You’ll see how its new features and cutting edge technology will help you create photorealistic visualizations more quickly and easily. Essential European digital arts festival FMX returns in May this year—and Chaos Group will be there! On May 3, we’ll host yet another V-Ray Day filled with four hours of engaging presentations, including a special live CG Garage podcast with Labs creative director Chris Nichols and our co-founder Vlado, plus Dabarti Studio director Tomasz Wyszolmirski. Scanline VFX will present work from “Independence Day: Resurgence,” and the award-winning French team of Unit Image will show-off the amazing "For Honor" trailer. Chaos Group’s schedule for this year’s FMX conference is packed with all things V-Ray.  

On April 27, our Labs creative director Chris Nichols will introduce the show, and talk to Filmakademie graduates Francesco Faranna and Andreas Feix. Then our own CG specialist Lyudmil Vanev will show us how he created The Bulgarian Village concept piece. We’ll also talk to VFX studios Blur and Bläck about creating epic cinematics for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and Conan Exiles. 

On day two, April 28, we’ll introduce Framestore’s Jesse Spielman and Mackevision’s Christian Zilliken, with the latter discussing his work on Game of Thrones series five and six.
