Books
As our list of titles is most extensive, not all books are carried in stock and most have to be ordered in. Our book database is regularly updated, based on information supplied by various distributors. Our book listings are based on information supplied by publishers and they can go out of stock or place a title ‘out of print’ at short notice.
If you are searching for a title that can’t be found it may be unavailable on our site due to the item being out of stock at the distributors. Élan Media Partners’ title availability is based on what is currently in stock at the distributors. We have chosen to present our web site to you in this manor to provide the quickest and most efficient way of fulfilling your order. In the event you can’t find the book you are after, we ask that you try your search again another day.
If you still can’t find the book you are looking for then please feel free to contact our customer service and we will try to find the item for you.

DVD formats
All DVDs on sale at Chaos.com are PAL format, unless otherwise stated.
There are two TV video standards, PAL (Phase Alternating Line) and NTSC (National Television System Committee). NTSC is used mainly in North America, Japan, Mexico and Canada, and PAL is used almost everywhere else in the world including Australia and NZ. NTSC has a resolution of 352 x 240, and PAL has a video resolution of 352 X 288. PAL generates 25 full frames per second with 635 lines per frame while NTSC produces 30 frames a second with 525 scan lines per frame. Due to screen interlacing (in which all the odd lines and then all the even lines of the frame are presented), the vertical scan frequencies for PAL are 50Hz (50 scans per second) and 60Hz for NTSC. This basically means that the NTSC system sacrifices video clarity to minimize flicker, while PAL accepts more flicker to gain an improvement in clarity.
A PAL signal can not be replayed on an NTSC only TV, and conversely an NTSC signal can not be replayed on a PAL only TV. However many current TV’s, DVD & Video Players are both PAL and NTSC compatible and can display both types of video. Please check your TV manual, or with the manufacturer, if in doubt.
Please read the following information carefully as it may impact your purchase decision.
There are 2 main types of format for console games – PAL and NTSC. This applies to Playstation 2, Playstation 3, XBOX, XBOX 360 and Nintendo Wii.
Please note that it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure both their gaming console and television equipment are compatible with the games they are ordering.
Games attract strict manufacturer guidelines and return authorisation will not be issued for incorrectly ordered games.
If you are unsure which format of game to order, please refer to your console instruction manual. Alternately, we recommend you confirm the format of other titles in your collection. The majority of games will have a PAL or NTSC logo displayed on the cover.
